Review Process
The journal utilizes a double-blind peer review system for all submitted manuscripts. This ensures that the identities of both authors and reviewers remain confidential throughout the evaluation process. Below is a detailed explanation of the review stages.
Initial Editorial Evaluation
Upon submission, the manuscript undergoes an initial assessment by the editor-in-chief. This evaluation focuses on the manuscript’s alignment with the journal’s scope, adherence to submission guidelines (e.g., word count, formatting, and language quality), research significance, originality, and relevance to the journal’s audience. Manuscripts that fail to meet these criteria may be returned for revisions or rejected outright. Rejections at this stage typically occur due to significant flaws, lack of originality, poor language, or misalignment with the journal’s focus. Authors are promptly notified, allowing them to submit their work to other journals without unnecessary delay.
Peer Review Phase
Manuscripts that pass the initial evaluation are sent to two independent reviewers with expertise in the relevant field. Reviewers are first invited to assess the manuscript based on its abstract. If they agree to review, they receive the full manuscript and are given 2–3 weeks to complete their evaluation. Reviewers must disclose any potential conflicts of interest that could affect their impartiality.
Reviewers evaluate the manuscript based on criteria such as novelty, originality, contribution to the field, ethical considerations, methodological rigor, clarity of findings, and adherence to submission guidelines. They provide both general feedback and specific comments for the authors. If the reviewers’ assessments conflict, a second round of peer review may be initiated. The final recommendations from reviewers fall into one of the following categories:
- Accept as is: The manuscript is suitable for publication without changes.
- Accept with minor revisions: The manuscript requires minor adjustments before publication.
- Accept with major revisions: The manuscript needs substantial revisions, such as reanalysis of data or rewriting sections.
- Reject: The manuscript is deemed unsuitable for publication due to fundamental issues.
Revision Phase
Authors receive feedback on required revisions and are given a specific timeframe to address them. Minor revisions typically require a one-week turnaround, while major revisions may take up to two weeks.
Final Decision Phase
The editor reviews the revised manuscript to ensure all reviewer comments have been adequately addressed. Additional revisions may be requested, or the manuscript may be rejected if the revisions are insufficient.
Editing and Proofreading
Once accepted, the manuscript undergoes copyediting, layout editing, and proofreading to ensure linguistic and formatting quality. Authors are asked to review the final PDF before publication to confirm its accuracy.
Complaints and Appeals
The journal is committed to resolving complaints promptly and fairly. Authors who wish to challenge an editorial decision may appeal to the editor-in-chief. The editor-in-chief will review the manuscript, peer feedback, and make a final decision. If necessary, additional reviewers may be consulted. All complaints are acknowledged within two working days.
Handling Complaints
The journal follows a transparent and fair process to address complaints from authors or other stakeholders. Complaints are investigated thoroughly, and all parties involved are given an opportunity to present their case. The journal ensures that its procedures are impartial and respectful to both complainants and those being complained about.
Ethical Standards
The journal adheres to strict ethical guidelines to maintain the integrity of the publishing process. Any allegations of misconduct, whether pre- or post-publication, are taken seriously and investigated in accordance with established protocols.
By following these procedures, the journal ensures a rigorous, fair, and transparent review process that upholds the highest standards of academic integrity.
